D.R. Harris Sandalwood Aftershave Splash

I purchased this splash [D.R. Harris Sandalwood Aftershave] not very long ago (a week) and when I first got it, packaging was handsome, but the smell was something I was unsure about. It did not smell medicinal to me, but 'tangy oils' was a better descriptive. Feedback regarding this aftershave was somewhat mixed. I was told I smell 'like a gentleman', and 'like a yoga studio incense' by some, and 'like an old man, but not in a bad way' by others. Overall, impression was positive and this splash grew on me. I do not use aftershave and limit myself to balms and creams due to my delicate skin. I really enjoy putting this on my face, as it does make it feel nice. This aftershave is alcohol-based so ensure that you apply it properly to avoid excessive drying of your skin. Scent carries well into the afternoon I found, and my girlfriend has told me she can smell faint and subtle sandalwood even in the evening. This bottle will last me a very long time, but unless I find something better, this will be a repeat purchase regardless of the price tag.

This particular comb, however, is a touch above even other high-quality horn combs. It doesn't have the pungent animalic smell of other brands, though it clearly is real horn. The fit-and-finish of every element is top notch. The spacing of the comb tines is just right; it adjusts hair as much as one wants while gliding smoothly and not pulling at all. The weight is solid enough to make sure the comb will last a long time, while not being burdensome to hold. The size is the perfect middle-ground between too small to be of effect, and too large to comfortably handle. Lastly, it's a beautiful comb fit for display.

I hope I’m not jumping the gun on this, having only used it twice but if you’re looking for a good (aggressive) body brush I would recommend this one. I intentionally went for a hard brush and am well pleased with this.

I've had boar from different manufacturers, (I currently own 5) a very highly touted synthetic, a best badger, and now this black badger. It's a great brush. Big knot with a low loft, that strikes a nice balance of backbone and give. It's also a very nice looking brush. The black badger hair contrasts nicely with the rest of the brush. Quality handle, nicely balanced, and I don't think I lost a single bristle on my first shave. No smell out of the box, or wet. Maybe a faint wood or cardboard smell as it dries. Nothing off-putting. All that said, I've decided that I'm a boar guy. Badger hair is too prickly for me, and has too much give. Like a prickly cotton ball. Boar has scritch, but it seems more gentle (I assume bristle diameter is the difference), and nearly goes away altogether once broken in. I couldn't deduct any stars because of my personal preferences. This is a fantastic brush. It's worth $25 for display purposes alone.

Good quality brush
I have been using one of these brushes for a few years now. It is very soft and produces a good lather. I prefer synthetic hair over actual badger hair. I have observed little to no hair loss from the brush.
