Tremendous Value to get More Slick and Comfortable Shaves

I have reviewed Clubman Pinaud Classic Barber Shave Cream before. It is a great product that I will continue to use. Looking at when I last posted, and when I last ordered, I can reflect on how long a tub of this stuff lasts: A really long time! My challenge now is to become creative with how to bring some along when traveling. I don't want to pack this big tub. I need something that is easy to both fill and get the cream out of. It also needs to be pressure tight to handle air travel pressure changes.

Slick and Comfortable Shave

I've been searching for a clear shave cream that would allow me to carefully edge my silver grey beard, which blends in with the white shave creams. Of course, I also wanted that slick, smooth, comfortable shave. Clubman delivers! I tried other clear gels that were decently slick, but tended to slip off my fingers before I could get them to my cheeks and neck (the only parts that get the blade). Clubman stayed on my fingers, rubbed on nicely, allowed the open-comb razor with an Erbe Sollingen stainless steel blade to glide right over giving an wonderfully comfortable and close shave. I didn't make any unfortunate cuts into my beard or 'stache. There were no nicks or cuts. The razor rinsed clean under warm running water between strokes. A great shave! I follow the instructions with rubbing in what's left on the face (some times adding just a tad more) and then patting dry with a paper towel, or quickly rinsing with cold water (when the beard is soaking wet out of the shower) and then drying face and beard. Following with Clubman Classic or Whiskey Woods is the perfect finishing touch. The large tub and great price is an excellent value. If you have only been using a brush and soap 9or cream) it will be a little different, but worth a try.

It Really Works

Petty good. If I traveled a lot, this would be in my kit. No brush to carry, put some in a small container and not worry about Airport Security or leaky container in your bag. Hint from years of travel and loads of delays and lost luggage, carry your kit as carry on. You don't even need an aftershave, just follow instructions, rub in a little Clubman. Only con, it's clear on the skin and little hard following stroke lines. It is Super Slick! Smells good, not the same as the regular Clubman. The shave was smooth with no razor burn or nicks. I used a two use Personna Blue and a Feather D-2.

My only other Semogue boar brush is the SOC, so when I say smaller, that's my reference point. In comparison, this is still breaking in, while my SOC is old. The 1470 has a smaller knot, but a lot more backbone. It holds plenty of lather for a 3 pass shave. The fit-and-finish of every element is top notch. The spacing of the comb tines is just right; it adjusts hair as much as one wants while gliding smoothly and not pulling at all. The weight is solid enough to make sure the comb will last a long time, while not being burdensome to hold. The size is the perfect middle-ground between too small to be of effect, and too large to comfortably handle. Lastly, it's a beautiful comb fit for display.

I hope I’m not jumping the gun on this, having only used it twice but if you’re looking for a good (aggressive) body brush I would recommend this one. I intentionally went for a hard brush and am well pleased with this.
